Ammann & Whitney was retained by NYSDOT to prepare preliminary and final design plans for the replacement of the pedestrian bridge at the 151st Street Pedestrian Bridge. The objective of this project was to provide direct pedestrian access to the park in the vicinity of the abandoned pedestrian bridge at 151st Street. To meet this objective, the project proposed to construct a new handicap accessible pedestrian bridge from 153rd Street, over the Henry Hudson Parkway and AMTRAK, with a westerly touchdown to the park.
W. Allen Engineering was selected to provide decorative lighting design by Ammann & Whitney and provided a four person team with various assignment.
